- Telephone and digital consultations to discuss your vehicle and our offer
- Free UK-wide vehicle collection at a time and place convenient to you
- Same-day bank transfer payment upon collection of your vehicle
- Assistance with paperwork including V5C transfer and plate surrender guidance
Our Service is available to individuals and businesses within the United Kingdom.
3. Valuation Terms
- Valuations provided through our website, by telephone, or by any other means are estimates based on the information available at the time, including data from DVLA, DVSA MOT records, and specialist vehicle valuation guides.
- Valuations are valid for 7 days from the date they are provided. After this period, we reserve the right to reassess and adjust the offer based on current market conditions.
- Our final purchase price is subject to physical inspection of the Vehicle at the point of collection. If the Vehicle's condition differs materially from the information provided (e.g., undisclosed damage, mechanical faults, or mileage discrepancy), we may adjust the offer accordingly. You are under no obligation to accept a revised offer.
- Valuations are based on the Vehicle being in the condition described. Any significant mechanical defects, bodywork damage, or missing components that were not disclosed may result in a revised offer.
- We reserve the right to withdraw an offer at any time before the completion of the sale if we discover information that materially affects the Vehicle's value or saleability.
4. Payment Terms
- Payment is made by bank transfer to the account nominated by you. We do not pay by cash or cheque.
- Payment is initiated on the same day as collection, provided all required documentation is in order and the Vehicle matches the agreed description. Funds typically arrive within the same business day, though bank processing times may vary.
- Payment is conditional upon:
- Satisfactory physical inspection of the Vehicle
- Verification of your identity as the legal owner
- Receipt of the V5C registration certificate (or satisfactory proof of ownership)
- Confirmation that there is no outstanding finance on the Vehicle (unless previously agreed)
- Receipt of all keys, documents, and accessories included in the sale
- The agreed price is the full amount you receive. We do not deduct any fees, commissions, or collection charges.
5. Vehicle Requirements
By submitting a Vehicle for sale through our Service, you warrant and represent that:
- You are the legal owner of the Vehicle, or you have full authority from the legal owner to sell it
- The Vehicle is free from outstanding finance, hire purchase agreements, or other encumbrances, unless you have disclosed this to us and we have agreed to proceed on that basis
- You will provide valid identification (driving licence or passport) at the point of collection for verification purposes
- The Vehicle has not been stolen, is not the subject of any insurance write-off that has not been disclosed, and is not subject to any legal dispute
- The information you have provided about the Vehicle (including mileage, condition, and history) is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge
- You have disclosed any known defects, damage, or issues with the Vehicle, whether mechanical, electrical, or cosmetic
6. Vehicle Transfer
- Upon completion of the sale, you must provide the V5C registration certificate (logbook) with the "new keeper" section completed in our name. If the V5C is unavailable, you must apply for a replacement from the DVLA before the sale can proceed, unless we agree otherwise.
- If the Vehicle holds a taxi or private hire licence plate, you are responsible for notifying the relevant licensing authority and arranging surrender or transfer of the plate in accordance with local regulations. We can provide guidance on this process.
- You are responsible for notifying your motor insurance provider that you have sold the Vehicle and cancelling or amending your policy accordingly.
- You should inform the DVLA of the change of keeper using the V5C notification process. Our collection driver will assist with the paperwork at the point of collection.
7. Our Liability
- We provide our Service with reasonable care and skill. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the purchase price paid for your Vehicle.
- We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or losses arising from delay.
- We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to: natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, strikes, transport disruption, or failure of third-party systems.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
8. Your Obligations
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and truthful information about yourself and your Vehicle at all times
- Disclose any known defects, damage, outstanding finance, or legal issues affecting the Vehicle
- Make the Vehicle available for collection at the agreed time and location
- Ensure the Vehicle is in substantially the same condition as described at the time of valuation
- Provide all necessary documents and keys at the point of collection
- Not remove any parts or accessories from the Vehicle after accepting our offer without our prior agreement
9. Cancellation
- You have the right to cancel your acceptance of our offer at any time before the Vehicle is collected. Simply notify us by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
- Once the Vehicle has been collected and payment initiated, the sale is considered complete and cannot be reversed except by mutual agreement.
- We may cancel a scheduled collection with reasonable notice if circumstances arise that prevent us from proceeding (e.g., failed finance check, inability to verify ownership). We will explain the reasons and, where possible, offer an alternative solution.
10. Dispute Resolution
- If you have a complaint or dispute relating to our Service, please contact us first at complaints@sellyourcab.co.uk or call 0800 123 4567. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 business days.
- If we are unable to resolve the dispute through direct negotiation, either party may propose mediation through a mutually agreed mediator. The costs of mediation will be shared equally unless agreed otherwise.
- Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent injunctive relief from the courts where necessary.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will take effect when posted on this page. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made. Your continued use of our Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
For significant changes that may affect your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or a prominent notice on our website.
